#5 According to the article, these shipments are for babies with cow’s milk protein allergies, and will supply 15% of that specific need — normal babies are out of luck. Abbott said they’ll be restarting production at the Michigan factory at the beginning of June, and in the meantime have been shipping in product from their facilities in Ireland, which were already FDA approved. I imagine lots of babies are being started on solid food earlier than originally intended. |

#4 That first shipment is a specialized variety for non-standard needs. That won’t impact the rest of the bottle-fed population, and those babies weren’t competing for the regular stuff anyway. |
