Palestinian stone-thrower shot by IDF soldiers in West Bank
2022-05-24
[IsraelTimes] A Paleostinian man who allegedly hurled stones at Israeli vehicles near the West Bank settlement of Neria was shot by Israeli soldiers.

According to the Rescuers Without Borders emergency service, the suspect was taken to Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek hospital in moderate condition.
"Target practice time!"
At least one car was damaged by a stone allegedly hurled by Paleostinians in the area, according to local authorities.

The Israel Defense Forces says troops are searching for a second suspect who expeditiously departed at a goodly pace.

#7  The Paleo mechanics of stone throwing are poor, often throwing in the dirt or high and away. Only the volume of throwers makes the stones deadly. IDF return fire at the knees is wholly justified.

#6  Those Romans were such engineers, Rob. Why just do a thing when it can be improved?

#5  TW -- a Roman battle site in Scotland turned up a huge number of sling bullets with notches cut into them. After some speculation they made a recreation, tested it, and it whistled as it flew.

#3  Bullets were originally designed for slingshots, after all — just a shaped rock. As I recall, the archeologists found lots of them outside the walls of Troy.

Rock or bullet - its only a matter of mass and velocity.
