| Unidentified gunmen killed a commander of the International Security Forces |

Unidentified gunmen shot dead on Sunday a commander of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in the village of al-Takihi, east of Deir ez-Zor, east of Syria. “Unidentified gunmen riding motorcycles shot dead the leader, Ibrahim al-Tarman, near the main road in the village of al-Takihi in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor,” a military source in the Asayish told North Press. “The four gunmen were shouting slogans that ISIS members usually say when carrying out their operations, before fleeing towards the desert of the town,” the source added, quoting eyewitnesses. Al-Tarman was in charge of the checkpoints of the Asayish in the central region in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, according to the source. Recently, the countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing a spike in killings which target members of the SDF, employees of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), tribal leaders and civilians, despite intensive security operations conducted by the SDF. On June 11, ISIS claimed the killing of two members of the SDF in the town of al-Busayrah in eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. |
