DOJ Goes Insurrectiony – Vows To Minimize Effects Of Supreme Court 2nd Amendment and Abortion Rulings |
2022-06-25 |
[LI] The two big U.S. Supreme Court decisions this week concerned the Second Amendment and abortion. Democrats are furious with both decisions. But not to worry, the United States Department of Justice has decided to rise above politics and to use its vast resources to effectuate the Supreme Court’s rulings — JUST KIDDING. DOJ and Attorney General Merrick Garland have vowed to use their vast resources to limit the effect of the Supreme Court’s rulings. They are going all insurrectiony, but legally, of course. On June 23, 2022, DOJ issued a statement of disagreement with the Supreme Court’s ruling on the Second Amendment in the Bruen case: The Department of Justice today released the following statement from spokeswoman Dena Iverson following the Supreme Court’s decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc., et al. v. Bruen, Superintendent of New York State Police, et al.: "We respectfully disagree with the Court’s conclusion that the Second Amendment forbids New York’s reasonable requirement that individuals seeking to carry a concealed handgun must show that they need to do so for self-defense. The Department of Justice remains committed to saving innocent lives by enforcing and defending federal firearms laws, partnering with state, local and tribal authorities and using all legally available tools to tackle the epidemic of gun violence plaguing our communities." Today, DOJ issued a statement in the name of Garland vowing to counteract the potential effects of the abortion decision in the Dobbs case (emphasis added): |

#16 It will be 20-30 years before it becomes clear what a good deal a mere 4 years of Trump was. |

#15 Can you image Garland as a Supreme Court Justice? We really dodged a bullet with that one! |

#14 garland should be arrested and taken to Guantanamo to await trial. |

#13 Did anyone else notice that Biden invoked 'Peaceful Protests' several times during his speech. Almost the *exact* same phrase Trump used on January 6th 2021 in his speech. |

#12 #10 --- AFAIK, the US Marshal Service works for the federal courts. Unless US Civil Service laws apply, of course. |

#11 Kind of hard to imagine that government could be corrupt without an equally corrupt enforcement arm. |

#10 Every seat in the House of Representatives is up or election in November. Don't just write the incumbents, ask every single candidate, as often as necessary, about the gross failure of the AG, DOJ and FBI in enforcing existing laws and their outright insubordination re: the USSC. Make them state their position and don't let them use weasel words. MAKE THIS A CAMPAIGN ISSUE. |

#5 I'm a firm believer in that when any federal employee breaks the law in the course of their job, they be given MASSIVE jail sentences and fines. As well as being barred from working in any government position again. |

#4 If we had a real opposition party, the fundamental design in the system would be for a Trunk Congress to refuse to fund any department or agency that declares itself outside the law. The power of the purse strings is a basic design of the Anglo-American system of government. |

#3 I guess supporting and defending the Constitution is out the window. |

#2 So DOJ Staff and the AG are in DIRECT CONFLICT with SUPREME Court and law of the Land. The highest court in the USA that dictates what the Federal Gov and the DOJ's legal powers of enforcement are vs. Citizens Rights. Sure sounds like we need to start arresting Federal Law Violators in the DOJ and Congress before we arrest one US Citizen exercising their RIGHTS. |
