| Ukraine latest updates: British MI6 says Russia ‘running out of steam' |

| [Aljazeera] Russia is "running out of steam" in its assault on Ukraine, the chief of the UK’s MI6 foreign intelligence agency, Richard Moore, has said. British defence intelligence says Russia is looking to hold referendums in newly occupied areas of Ukraine. The Ukrainian military has said it has killed dozens of Russian soldiers and destroyed two ammunition dumps in fighting in the Kherson region, the focus of Kyiv’s counteroffensive in the south and a key link in Moscow’s supply lines. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says the deaths of dozens of prisoners in a Russian-held jail show Moscow is a state sponsor of "terrorism". Russia claimed Ukraine carried out missile attacks that killed the prisoners. |
