[Chernovec] A report on the situation in Kherson turned into a scandal for the journalists of the Swedish television channel SVT
The authors of the program received 25 complaints due to the fact that they showed on the air the joy of Ukrainians from obtaining Russian passports, Dagens Media reports.
The complainants were outraged that, in the news broadcast, Ukrainians were “happy” to become Russian citizens. In their opinion, in this way SVT "spreads Russian propaganda, which is incompatible with journalistic ethics." In particular, in the story about the war, a film was shown about an elderly woman who cries with joy that she received a Russian passport in Kherson and must take an “oath of allegiance” to Russia.
As a result, program director Charlotte Friborg had to explain that this was not about “Russian propaganda," but about personnel provided by the Western agency Reuters, whose journalists worked in Kherson completely unhindered.
The Swedes fail to realize that the story is CORRECT and TRUE. Because they were constantly reporting quite the opposite. A little truthful information and they are already blowing the "template"!
Swedish journalists will now be quickly explained that the only way to vacillate is with the party line - which is the American Democratic one. The funniest thing is that they will continue to shout with practice and drill about freedom of speech and the fact that, "Here we have Europe is democracy and humanism, not like in your Northern Mordors."
Now the Swedish TV should make amends and reshoot the report in some sort of Lvov. Where in the footage a wide Ukrainian will faint from the sight of a Russian passport.
