Pfizer CEO Gets the Chinese Crud

[NY Post] Pfizer Chief Executive Officer Albert Bourla said on Monday he had tested positive for COVID-19 and was experiencing very mild symptoms. Bourla, 60, said he had started a course of the company’s oral COVID-19 antiviral treatment, Paxlovid, and was isolating and following all public health precautions.

If it’s a mild case, why bother taking Paxlovid? Wouldn’t it be better to leave it for those who truly need it?

Paxlovid is an antiviral medication that is used to treat high-risk people, such as older patients. Bourla ~~claims he~~ has received four doses of the COVID vaccine developed by Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech.

#2 There was a recent outbreak of COVID-19 at a long term care facility near me where almost every resident was at the highest risk of complications of COVID-19. The whole group had already been immunized and boosted against the virus. A nurse there let slip that none of those infected was given Paxlovid even though they were all in true need of it. AFAICT none was hospitalized.
