Ex-NYC Mayor de Blasio to teach at Harvard after flunking congressional campaign
2022-08-26
It’s not like he’ll seriously degrade the caliber of teaching there at the moment. It’s sad — we all remember when Harvard was worth aspiring to, but it’s been years since the raw ability of students and educators was swallowed up by rabid political correctness.
[NYPOST] Former Mayor Comrade Bill de Blasio
...cryptocommie mayor of New York and for some reason a Dem candidate for president in 2020. Corrupt and incompetent, his qualifications for office seem to consist of being married to a black woman, with whom he honeymooned in Cuba. He has a preppy-looking son named Dante, whose Divine Comedy involved getting his back hair up when a police car drove past him slowly. New Yorkers voted for him, so they deserved him...
— who flunked both his campaign for president and Congress — is stepping into a new role as a teaching fellow at Harvard University this fall.

Professor Hizzoner will be teaching at both the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Institute of Politics at the Harvard Kennedy School, the New York Times

... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

reported Wednesday.

His courses will be on what he sees as his two greatest accomplishments — leading the city through the COVID-19 pandemic and implementing universal pre-K.

At the public health school, he will be conducting one-on-one mentoring sessions, where he can impart his political acumen on students.

"It’s exciting to spend time with really talented young people who are looking forward to going into public service," de Blasio told the Times. "I hope I can inspire them, but also give them some real life understanding of what’s ahead and how to be effective."

De Blasio, a Red Sox fan, is sure to be right at home at Harvard’s ritzy Cambridge, Mass. campus — it’s just a 10 minute walk from the local YMCA. The former mayor was raised in Cambridge but says he’ll keep calling Park Slope, Brooklyn home.

The tony neighborhood is also home to the time-challenged pol’s beloved YMCA — and he’d make the 13-mile trek there from Gracie Mansion for late-morning workouts.

De Blasio has been on the hunt for his next gig ever since the end of his tenure leading the Big Apple. He followed his disastrous attempt at running for president in 2020 with a short-lived campaign this summer for the newly drawn NY-10 Congressional district, but withdrew from the race in July. He had previously said in an interview he was thinking about working at a non-profit.

But how much expertise he really has to lend the Harvard students is questionable. De Blasio’s pandemic response was clouded by his puerile feud with disgraced former Gov. Andrew Sonny Cuomo
...former Dem dynastic governor of Noo Yawk, the son and heir of the late Mario Cuoma and formerly married to a Kennedy. Acclaimed for his leadership during the COVID epidemic, he managed the nation's highest corpse count while successfully hiding the returns and writing a book praising himself. Among the nation's horniest politicians, he had about a dozen allegations of sexual harrassment and groping against him when he resigned...
The dysfunctional relationship between the two hot heads hindered the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ex-city Health Commissioner Dave Chokshi revealed in June.

Chokshi got the gig in August 2020 following the resignation of Dr. Oxiris Barbot, who quit in a letter that accused the city of botching its COVID-19 response under de Blasio.

"I leave my post today with deep disappointment that during the most critical public health crisis in our lifetime, that the Health Department’s incomparable disease control expertise was not used to the degree it could have been," she wrote in her resignation letter.

#1  My grandfather used to say that you can tell a Harvard man but you can't tell him much.

Bad news - his teaching will be terrible.
Good news - the federal government is now giving rebates on his terrible teaching.
