An Iraqi army patrol was blown up by an explosive device in Diyala province in eastern Iraq. This was reported on August 26 by the Shafaq agency, citing a source in the provincial security agencies.The incident occurred in the Al-Beijat area between the districts of Bukhraz and Kanaan, located 20 kilometers southwest of the city of Baakuba. According to preliminary data, one soldier was killed, two more were injured as a result of the explosion of a military patrol on an explosive device installed on the path of the patrol.
The security forces went to the scene to evacuate the wounded, an operation was launched in the area to search for the shelters of the attackers in order to further eliminate them.
It is noted that the areas south of the districts of Bukhraz and Kanaan have become the stronghold of the sleeping cells of ISIS, attacks on the Iranian military and local residents periodically take place here.
