Queen Elizabeth II dies at 96 after historic 70-year reign, plunging Britain and a world that loved her into mourning for an unparalleled lifetime of 'service, duty and devotion' - and making Charles the new King
2022-09-08
  • The death of Queen Elizabeth II is announced at the age of 96, ending the longest reign of any British monarch

  • Doctors became concerned about her health today - with her children and grandchildren racing to Balmoral

  • World joins Britain in mourning, and celebrating, devoted sovereign who ruled the country for 70 years

  • Queen's son Charles, the former Prince of Wales, becomes King and is expected to address the nation shortly

  • Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary became Queen on Feb 6 1952 aged just 25, when her father George VI died

  • Her reign spanned 15 British Prime Ministers from Sir Winston Churchill to Liz Truss and 14 US Presidents

  • And on September 9, 2015, she became longest-reigning British monarch, surpassing Queen Victoria's record

#26  Witnessed her world go rad,
from London to Londona-bad.
Served her folks as best
she could, maybe even more.
Now we lay her down to rest;
this ould Lady of yore.
She leaves on the throne a fool,
a putz, a moslem tool.
He has this kid? Bloke's woke,
defected to Wakandan rule!

And a generation of suckers whose only question will be 'ooh what will the Duchess of Nothing be wearing at the wake?'

#23  Prince William will now soon get the title of Prince of Wales (in addition to his other titles) but this requires a specific granting by Charles III.

Harry is currently Duke of Sussex, notwithstanding his non performance of his 'royal duties'. The title of Duke of York is already taken by Prince Andrew. I don't think Harry gets anything else.

#20  Prince Harry is one, who was demoted, but because of the new line of succession, he can now use the term, HRH (His Royal Highness) because he and his family have moved up the line of succession'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children can use new royal titles upon Queen's death

#19  Overall, both Lords and Knights are created by the Sovereign, with the intention of recognizing the person and sometimes their family for a variety of different reasons - There is also the ability to demote, and render the previously recognized as no longer recognizable by the Sovereign...for behaviors, pronouncements, character...
