Oregon Apologizes for 'F*ck the Mormons' Chant During BYU Game
2022-09-20
"Bartender, tolerance for everyone!"
[BREITBART] The University of Oregon has issued an apology to Brigham Young University (BYU) after a large section of their students began chanting "F*ck the Mormons" during their game on Saturday.

"Religious bigotry alive and celebrated in Oregon," Utah Governor Spencer Cox (R) wrote in a tweet captioning the video of the offensive chant.

BYU describes itself as "...founded, supported, and guided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are commonly referred to as Mormons.

On Sunday, Oregon released a statement stating that the student chant went against "everything the university stands for."

"The University of Oregon sincerely apologizes for an offensive and disgraceful chant coming from the student section during yesterday’s game against Brigham Young University," the university said. "These types of actions go against everything the university stands for, and it goes against the spirit of competition. We can and will do better as a campus community that has no place for hate, bias or bigotry."

#9  Well, using the gun banners' logic, all college students everywhere should be denied any benefit of attending or participating in football because a few misused the opportunity.

#8  Liberal U of O professors pushing woke garbage is disheartening and embarrassing as it bleeds into our Duck games, along with hateful rhetoric being a norm now at the Campus bars and establishments.
Attending an Oregon Duck game is an awesome experience that has been drug through the mud.
My brother has had Season tickets since 1972 and I enjoy attending games when I go back to visit.
I have family attending Oregon 2022-23 and the hate spewed by many leftie professors is only getting worse if you can even imagine.
Watching the destruction of my beloved Oregon has been very painful, and I feel so helpless.
Oregon is so much better than this.

#7  A good example of what happens when someone yells something at a game. its recorded and phones and there is ample proof.

Perhaps people should consider that before falling for the next hoax. Especially students that should be a bit more tech savvy.

#6  It is only to be expected from students attending a glorified junior college.

#4  After BYU got crucified for a race hoax chant which after the damage has been done the LSM has started to walk back.

"These types of actions go against everything the university stands for..

You might review your CRT instruction before making that statement.

#3  And it's a football game for Pete's sake. Heckling the opponent and its fans is part and parcel of it all.

#2  Remember a decade or so ago this sort of thing was just considered regular juvenile stuff. Not even the Mormons would bat an eyelid I'm sure. Oh... maybe some hifalutin' screechy preacher would demand an apology and that would be it. It wouldn't even make the local news.

#1  "Let's go, Brandon" (or even its real meaning) sounds much better.

"...that has no place for hate...."
