The Military Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the Southern District Military Court in Volgograd, which found Tajik citizen Faizali Faizali Khalimkhonov guilty of financing terrorism, the Volgogradskaya Pravda newspaper reported today, citing a release from the press service of the Russian Federal Security Service for the region. On June 29, the Southern District Court found Faizali Khalimkhonov guilty and sentenced him to 9 years in prison in a penal colony with the first 3 years in prison, according to the verdict published on the website of the court. Khalimkhonov, who did not agree with the verdict, filed a complaint, which was considered by the military court of appeal on September 16 and upheld the verdict of the first instance.
