Ex-NATO commander: ‘Putin is becoming quite desperate'
2022-09-26
BLUF:
[The Hill] He said the world has heard Putin threaten to use nuclear weapons for the past decade, but the Russian president is not serious because he knows that even Russia’s allies, China and Iran, would turn against him.

"No one is going to support a Russia that uses nuclear weapons," Stavridis said.

He also said the annexation referendums in the Ukrainian territory that Russia has captured that Putin expressed support for in his speech are "nonsense" and no one will recognize the territories are part of Russia.

Stavridis additionally said Putin’s plan to implement a partial mobilization of up to 300,000 military reservists is flawed because "no one wants to be drafted."

#5  I don't believe that Stavridis is willing to risk nuclear war because of a minor border dispute between Ukraine and Russia. He and his NATO/globalist colleagues must have much bigger plans. They don't seem to mind that this is the first time NATO has used violence to force their expansion into a country.

#4  Who is he trying to influence, and why?

#3  "no one wants to be drafted."

No shit.

But it does work if you have a good logistical support for the drafted and a good program to quickly indoctrinate them into the military. See the Draft, USA version.

The Russians do not have the above which is why it will fail.

#1  Gotta love a four-star who improperly use MilAir and made fishy TDY claims.

The best one was his junket to France to be part of this "brotherhood" (almost something out of Monty Python):

"Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin translates from French to English as “The Brotherhood of Knights of Wine Tasting Cups.” Its original name, in the 18th century, was the “Order of the Drink.”"
