| Massive wave of missile attacks reported across Ukraine | |

The office of Valery Zaluzhny, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian armed forces, reported they had detected at least 75 missiles and claimed they had intercepted 41. President Vladimir Zelensky confirmed the attacks throughout the country in a video address, saying numerous parts of Ukraine had come under fire, and claimed that Russia was targeting the energy infrastructure. “They want panic and chaos,” he said. Local officials in Lviv, Kharkov, and Odessa also reported that their cities came under fire. In Kiev, damage from the strikes was reported near the headquarters of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), which is located in the government area of the capital. City officials halted operations of the metro system, and the stations are now being used as shelters for civilians. READ MORE: Central Kiev hit by missile strikes The head of Lviv Region, Maksim Kozitsky, reported that elements of the western province’s energy infrastructure came under attack. Boris Filatov, the mayor of Dnepr, a major city in central Ukraine, confirmed the strikes and said he could only feel “hatred and the wish to fight,” while urging residents to take shelter. Vitaly Kim, who heads the southern Nikolaev Region which borders Russia’s Kherson Region, reported dozens of projectiles and a number of kamikaze drones coming from Russian troops. He claimed that Moscow was targeting “critical infrastructure” throughout the country. With similar accounts coming in from many parts of the country, senior Ukrainian officials have expressed determination to fight Russia. “Our courage will never be destroyed by terrorists’ missiles, even when they hit the heart of our capital,” Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov tweeted, also claiming that Russia’s future is that of “a globally despised rogue terrorist state.” The strikes on Monday were launched two days after Russia’s Crimean Bridge was damaged by a powerful explosion, which Moscow blamed on the Ukrainian special services. Senior Russian officials described the plot – which apparently involved sneaking explosives into a cargo truck and detonating it as it crossed the bridge between Crimea and mainland Russia – as a terrorist attack on critical civilian infrastructure. Officials in Kiev previously claimed that the bridge was a legitimate military target and have called for its destruction. | |

| #11 I'm old enough to remember the "wisdom" of Nixon/Kissinger and the tactic of triangulation short of open war. Looking ahead is always the tangled maze of branches and sequels, but on must assess what most seems likely short of the big-kaboom. Consider the world from the perspective of China today. Its main military peer competitors are the US and Russia. Anything at the strategic level that weakens both is a win, even if one is a superficial ally and the other the major economic market. So encouraging this enormously expensive, destabilizing and destructive proxy war would seem to be a priority for its agents/allies embedded in Washington and Moscow, keeping the focus on Europe and the Atlantic Alliance. Given how the Demokrat party is exhausting our SPR and military stockpiles as well as the massive overspending of the Puppet Show on every imaginable stupidity, keeping this up until after the MidTerms, we are a very weakened, divided nation led by a doddering, script reading fool and a crack-brained harpy. Then after a massive political change in the House and Senate, poof, invade Taiwan and reset the American focus on the Pacific, too late to do more than talk as America is consumed with damage control, debt management and cultural strife subsidized by China, Iran, Russia, and half the Arab world post-November. As our focus shifts from the money pit that has been Ukraine and Europe finds face-saving ways to open the energy flow from Russia again, perhaps with a Post-Putie oligarch, Ukraine negotiates, the vast corruption there is revealed, and China has reset the World Stage to its benefit. Xi is triumphant and we are diminished further as the perception is that the American Century has ended. While I doubt the Republic is finished, 31 trillion will take a lot of work to pay off, and we have massive internal issues to resolve to repair the stupidities of Bush/Obama/Pelosi-Biden policies. America First and American Sovereignty now! |

| #8 5 murdered civilians in Kiev for a dozen for more cruise missiles fired (6 hit). That is not sound military strategy. It is reminiscent of a broom bristle mustachioed fella who also wasted military power to bomb cities because his ego got bruised. The rest is history. Whether 10 or 80 cruise missiles per day targeting civilians, the end effect is the same. The missiles will run out and Russia can't build more w/o imported western electronics. Ukrainians continue to liberate more territory everyday and many more Russians die on the battlefield than Ukrainian civilians Moscow can kill with missile strikes on cites. Meanwhile, every eastern European county is thinking, "I need nuclear weapons." and so it will be. There used to be a newspaper in Moscow run by expats, including Matt Taibbi, called "The Exile". One of their regular features was called "Low Yield Murders". That is Russia in a nutshell. |
