Sacre bleu! Democrats go to PARIS, sip wine and eat hors d'oeuvres for 'stop MAGA Republicans' fundraisers while staring down defeat in the midterms
2022-10-11
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
Selling access to foreign interests
Hopefully just going where the donors have deep pockets and limited information.
Yeah,that
  • The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) held fundraisers in Paris and Geneva earlier this month, it was reported this weekend

  • Asked for comment by DailyMail.com, the DCCC said: Chairman Maloney has been on a 10 city, 10 day fundraising swing raising millions of dollars'

  • They were being raised to 'help stop MAGA Republicans who want to pass a national abortion ban from gaining control of Congress'

  • Their European trek came just over a month before the midterm elections

  • Democrats are projected to narrowly lose control of the House

  • Invitations were aimed at earning donations from American expats in Europe. U.S. citizens living abroad are allowed to participate in elections back home, including voting absentee and giving money to candidates.

#10  DB, yes you're right. I was just remembering how Lindsay Graham pushed his Bill after the successful verdict taking it back to the states. He gave the Libs ammunition and I haven't been too happy with him

#9  Jan only after 15 weeks with certain exceptions. Not a total ban.

#8  Deacon, Lindsey Graham introduced the abortion bill at a time when a report on inflation was raging higher in the news. With elections coming up instead of going on the offensive talking about high prices at the gas pumps and grocery stores he went on the defense with abortion. This after getting abortion back to the states. Not happy with LG.
Not happy with Colorado sending out 30,000 voter registrations to foreign nationals either. Not sure if those registrations can be identified and stricken?

#7  I think most Republicans understand that abortion is an issue that should be delegated to the states, even if states like California will murder babies right up until birth or even later. It's Democrats who want federal law to codify Roe v Wade.

#5  I haven't heard anyone on the Republican side calling for a national abortion ban. But Democrats in Colorado mailed voter registration forms to 30,000 foreign nationals. When caught they claimed it was a computer error. I wonder how many of those 30,000 have registered to vote.

#4  Hopefully they stay there

#3  Hopefully, they were duly insulted.

#2  "They were being raised to 'help stop MAGA Republicans who want to pass a national abortion ban from gaining control of Congress'"

What bull shit (on multiple levels). Like some DCCC chump is going to go to Paris over that issue.

Of course, the Dems had 49 years to legislate something (as did the GOP)...nada, so now it's a "big issue" on Capitol Hill. Get the f*** outta here.

#1  In the old days at least they were bought and sold by other Americans.
