Biden falsely says the price of gas was more than $5 when he took office
2022-10-28
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created ... by the — you know — you know, the thing...
touted U.S. manufacturing gains Thursday on a trip to Syracuse – where he claimed gas prices were down compared to when he took office, when in fact they are higher.

'We're down $1.25 Since the peak this summer, and they've been falling for the last three weeks as well as well, and adding up real savings for families today.,' Biden said.

'The most common price of gas in America is $3.39 down from over $5 When I took office,' he continued.
I recall it hitting $2.19 around here.
The average cost of a gallon of gas on the AAA site was $3.76 Thursday. When he took office, it was averaging $2.39 – or about half what he said it was then – according to the Energy Information Institute.

#13  Under $2 for pure gasoline.

Its why all those stickers went up.

Little mash-up of price increases with those stickers shown, dated, this dialogue in the background, until that Summer Peak.

#4  I do remember >$5 gas at a station very near downtown Chicago a couple years ago during the early stages of the WuFlu pandemic.

Other than that, it was typically in the $2-$3 range, depending on local taxes. Diesel was about .60-.70 higher, about the same as premium.
