[REGNUM] The Russian "Wagner Group" was listed by the US State Department as an organization of concern
The Russian "Wagner Group" was included by the US State Department in the list of organizations of concern for the violation of religious freedoms of organizations. This was announced on December 2 by the press service of the US State Department.
It is explained that the "Wagner Group" has been placed on the list of "organizations of particular concern" for their activities in the Central African Republic (CAR). The same list includes Nigerian extremists Boko Haram, the Houthis, the Taliban, several units of ISIS and other, mostly radical extremist organizations.
In addition, in accordance with the decision of the US State Department, the list of countries of concern for violation of the US religious freedom law includes Iran, China, North Korea, Cuba, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Eritrea and Russia.
Earlier, REGNUM reported that the White House administration is studying the possibility of declaring the Russian "Wagner Group" a terrorist organization. In turn, businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin explained that the private military company (PMC) Wagner does not fit under any of the criteria for classifying an organization as a terrorist organization, according to US regulation, but the activities of the United States themselves fall completely under them.
