#10  land bridge

No way. We'd have every Russian, Chinese and North Korean lining up at the US-Canadian border. Not even a fence to delay them.

#9  The Russians need to worry more about modernizing and replacing the equipment lost and ammo expended in Ukraine.

#8  ...well, if we can engineer that old land bridge we can just keep the invaders from down south to keep on moving. Just saying

#7  Given that China is already in negative population growth, and possibly has been for a decade or more, if they take Siberia will they be able to hold it?

#3  500-700K is the estimate. Russia only has about 2-2.5 million men of draftable age. Say 600k gone to other countries, 300k in the military already, so in theory, this is doable. But we have already seen Russia scraping the bottom of the manpower barrel already and I'm not sure they could scare up more than an additional 500k for service.

If they do this, these men will be not at home working and generating taxes and will not be marrying and making babies. Russia is already in a death spiral demographically speaking and the economy is taking hits. Pulling this many men may fix the short term problems, but it will only kill Russia faster.

#2  Doesn't Russia still have like 500K draft dodgers living in other countries?

#1  Gotta up your game if you wanna keep NATO from expanding all the way to Vladivostok.
