| Bomb attack in Abyan kills three UAE-backed mercenaries |

| [HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] At least three militia members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) were killed and four others maimed on Tuesday in a double attack in Abyan ...a governorate of Yemen. The region was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army terrorist group until it dropped the name and joined al-Qaeda. Its capital is Zinjibar. In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirateafter seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues... province, southern Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... Informed sources in the province reported that al-Qaeda members targeted two vehicles of the so-called "Third Support Brigade" and the "Emergency Forces" of the STC with two bombs in "al-Khayala" valley in al-Mahfad area, as a result of which 3 were killed and 4 maimed. This comes after two people were killed on Monday when a STC military vehicle was targeted in al-Mahfad area. The terrorist elements resorted to using bombs to target the STC militia in Abyan, after announcing the operation of the so-called "East Arrows", in early September, and its control of the Islah Party camps in most areas of the province. |
