In connection with media appeals regarding the composition and participation of various units of the Russian grouping of troops (forces) in the liberation of the city of Soledar of the Donetsk People's Republic from the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we deem it necessary to clarify the following.
Offensive operations in this tactical direction, which ended in the defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the capture of the city of Soledar, were carried out by a heterogeneous grouping of Russian troops (forces) according to a single plan and plan, which provided for the solution of a complex of combat missions.
These combat missions included, as already reported, blocking the city from the north and south, isolating the combat area, preventing the enemy from transferring reserves from neighboring areas to the city and preventing the exit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Soledar, as well as fire support for the attack by ground attack aircraft and artillery.
As for the direct assault on the city blocks of Soledar occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this combat mission was successfully solved by the courageous and selfless actions of the volunteers of the Wagner assault squads.
The right approach. Everyone is doing a common thing.
PS. Today, the fighting from Soledar has shifted to the Sol railway station, the fighting for which continues to this day. Part of the station has already been cleared of the enemy.
A CNN correspondent who was in the Soledar area reported that he saw retreating Ukrainian troops 4 km west of Soledar.
Also today there were fierce battles for Krasnaya Gora and Paraskovievka.

In Soledar, a mother and children lived in a cellar for several months

"We were taken out of Soledar on the 11th, we were in the hospital for three days. It’s hot in Soledar: we lived in a cellar, for the last two months the children didn’t go out at all," said the woman, whose story is quoted by RIA Novosti.
According to the refugee, all four of her children were wounded by shell fragments. The woman said that the wounds were not serious, but the fragments had not yet been removed, as the doctors told her that the fragments would come out on their own.
She also noted that the children have a fever, and they will remain in the hospital, where they will continue to be treated.
As REGNUM reported , earlier the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the complete liberation of Soledar on January 12 by units of the RF Armed Forces. On January 13, police colonel of the Lugansk People's Republic Vitaly Kiselev said in an interview with TASS that elite units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to recapture Soledar from the Russian military, but the attack failed.
