Rep. Adam Schiff launches Senate bid to replace Dianne Feinstein
2023-01-27
[NYPOST] Rep. Adam Schiff
...Showboating U.S. Representative for California's 28th congressional district since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, Schiff has served in Congress since 2001. He currently serves as the chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. In a manner reminiscent of Joe McCarthy, on March 22, 2017, in a interview with Chuck Todd on MSNBC Schiff claimed there was “more than circumstantial evidence now” that Donald Trump's campaign colluded with Russia." Todd followed up by asking if he had seen direct evidence of collusion and Schiff responded that there was "evidence that is not circumstantial and is very much worthy of investigation"...
joined the crowded 2024 Senate race in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, on Thursday, saying Democrats "need a fighter" just days after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy

booted him from the House Intelligence Committee.

The polarizing 62-year-old will face fellow Reps. Katie Bat Girl Porter

, 49, Barbara Lee, 76, and potentially incumbent Sen. Dianne Feinstein
...Dem Senator-for-Life from Caliphornica. She has been a politician since about the time she was weaned. Feinstein was the author of the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban, and tried it a second time in 2012. Feinstein has chaired the Select Committee on Intelligence since 2009. At age 89.51563, Feinstein is the oldest currently serving United States Senator...

Schiff gained national prominence as a leading opponent of former President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
— who nicknamed him "Shifty Schiff" — and was the lead impeachment manager in the 45th president’s 2020 Senate trial for pressuring Ukraine to investigate the Biden family’s business dealings.

McCarthy (R-Calif.) on Tuesday banned Schiff from the intelligence committee, which the Democrat had chaired for the past four years, for allegedly lying about the existence of evidence showing Trump conspired with Russia to win the 2016 election.

#7  I’d say the odds are against him. Running against 3 womyns including a POC from Oakland and law professor from purpling OC. While a soy boy, don’t think a white male in his 60s has much of a chance in Wokeville. As a recovering Californian, sad to see my home circle the drain.

#6  With the amount of graft available at the Senate level, there will likely be a host of challengers. California politics is sort of like Saruman’s orc spawning pool. Don’t discount the possibility that a more despicable candidate might emerge. Their district attorney farm system is top flight. Kamala Harris is a generational talent, but there are still some up and comers working on their craft at through that system. The mayoral pipeline is also robust.

#5  There is no bright side to it. Feinstein is old and out of it. Schifferbrains is young, energetic and ambitious. But on top of that he is totally unscrupulous...well, he's a Democrat. That's bad.

They'll vote for him in Los Angeles. If he can get Pelosi and Newsom to support him, they'll vote for him in the Bay Area too.

Yes, it does make me ashamed to be a Californian.

#4  I suppose on the bright side, if he were to actually win nobody would notice the difference.

#3  The hell of it is, in a state like California and with the media refusing to report his many misdeeds, he might win. In fact, I would predict at this point that he will win.

#2  If you want to actually replace Old Piano Legs, you'll have to up your drinking game...

#1  He believes that his strong record of malfeasance and corruption deserves promotion. We will see if California rewards him. My gut tells me that he will not make out of the primary, but my recent prediction record is spotty at best. It will be interesting to see if he has a primary opponent for his district.
