Jimmy Carter to receive hospice care at home
2023-02-19
[NYPOST] Former President Jimmy Malaise Carter
...peanut farming former nuclear sub officer, who succeeded Gerald Ford as president. Carter perfected the approach later used by Joe Biden to get elected, presenting himself as a moderate whose Zero-based Budgeting was going to so away with the federal deficif. Once in the hands George McGovern's rejects, who were ever so much more virtuous than the rest of us, the nation immediately spun into a Malaise®. By the time Jimmeh, as he was contemptuously referred to, was running against Ronald Reagan, the liberal columnists were pronouncing the nation's problems as too severe to be solved by anyone; they were simply unsolvable, or maybe insoluble. That was why Reagan was such a flop. After Obama, Jimmeh's's only the second worst president ever, and by the time Biden's done maybe the third. Depending on how many Dems we elect in coming years, he may even end up looking competent...
has decided to receive hospice care "instead of additional medical intervention" at his home in Plains, Georgia, the Carter Center announced Saturday.

The 98-year-old made the decision after a "series of short hospital stays," the center said. "He has the full support of his family and his medical team."

Grandson Jason Carter said the family patriarch and Rosalynn, his wife of 76 years, are "at peace."

"I saw both of my grandparents yesterday," Jason Carter tweeted. "They are at peace and — as always —their home is full of love."

The former president, whose tumultuous single term ended in 1981, has faced serious health problems in recent years.

#29  Ford sure stumbled into that job. Agnew resigned, then Tricky Dick.

And now I can't help but think of Chameleon Harris. Good gawd.

#28  He questioned food subsidies and some other golden calves of the establishment. In the end, he had no constituents. I don’t think he made a bunch of money out of the gig. I have him ranked above Clinton, Biden and Obama in that order. I have not slotted LBJ Nixon, Bush elder or younger. Too many puzzle pieces are missing at this point. Nixon’s stock is in the rise. Ford probably gets an incomplete unless he knew about the JFK assassination.

#27  Have to dig a deep hole to get under that bar.

I actually voted for Peanut the first time because of his Zero based Budgeting fraud.

His actions in office convinced me to never vote for a Dem again. Was he that stupid or that controlled by his puppet masters?

#24  I'd still take him hands down over the buffoon and puppet we have occupying 1600 Penna. Ave. now.

#23  Hope his caregiver shows up in a rabbit suit.

#22  Obviously benefited from CAR T, which is beyond the financial means of any but the most connected cancer patients.

Time to die, Jimmah.

#21  NN21, I approved of his charitable works in house building and started to have a better view of Carter as a person ...then his foreign affairs 'adventures' ruined any positive feelings for him.

#20  As I carefully said, I liked what he did before & after failing in the WH.

#19  There is a tide in the affairs of men.
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.

#16  Anybody remember the SNL skit with Dan Ackroyd giving the SOTU speech and talking around his hemorrhoid problems?

#15  Folded like a cheap suit and did nothing after failed 'Operation Eagle Claw' (US hostage rescue in Iran) in 1980.

#14  Kind of mixed on the amnesty. It's because of that mess in SE Asia that there is no longer military conscription. Those that fled did so at some risk, not like the rich, connected folk such as Dubya and The Donald who managed to finagle their way out. At least John Kerry got a nice medal out of it.

#13  Deeply flawed, but most critically, arrogant in his certitude of his "morality". Not a thief, nor a globalist, but a classic demokrat control freak. 4th from the bottom, followed by LBJ, the Magic Kenyan and Jojo.

#12  Granted amnesty to draft dodgers who went to Canada.

#11  There have been others since then, but in my heart, Jimmy Carter will always be Worst President Ever.

Go read "Guests of the Ayatollah" by Mark Bowden if you need reminders.

#9  I’m sorry for the grief of those who love and admire him. I will not be among them.

It is because of his attitude and actions toward Israel that the Jews, as a block, did not support his reelection ambitions.

#2  Carter was evil.

There, I said it.

His left leaning, pretend Christianity persona was the perfect Trojan Horse for the 1968 crowd to front end load the apparatus of state with many toxic things that would eventually blow up and badly damage the nation.

CRA made possible the snowballing of the real estate loan industry into the worst economic downturn (2008 housing crisis) since the Great Depression, via the establishment of the precedent that the government could force banks to make bad loans on the basis of politicians trying to buy votes from subsets of the populace. Once that precedent was established, it was only a question of when, not if, such an economic collapse would occur.

A federalized Department of Education has taken away local control of education, resulting in billions of dollars wasted, recruitment/grooming of children into pedophilia and questionable decisions regarding sexuality, and replacement of real education with Howard Zinn style cultural Marxist indoctrination.

Great expansions of affirmative action especially for women made it impossible politically in our time to reform or sunset it, or to even have a grownup discussion about what metrics can be established to determine if it is even necessary. Neither political party dares to even bring it up, not because of minorities but because white women will instantly abandon that party. As a result, we now have governments and corporations pushing "equity" which is a deadly combination of communism and eternal affirmative action.

All of this and more can be lain squarely at the feet of Carter and the people surrounding him in the late seventies.

As for gutting the military, to fund welfare and unionized public school teachers and alphabet agency clown farm cogs, well, that speaks for itself.

I'm sorry for the grieving that his family will experience when he passes but the man was evil. No amount of building a few houses for a few poor people can wipe that away.

#1  I have a deep respect for the man and his many godly and humanity accomplishments, before and after his time in the WH. As a Governor, he also functioned well.

But, now that we have the BIDEN/COUP in the WH, it is clear Mr. Carter is not longer the most lacking president to have been in the WH. in the last 100 years.
