(ISIS), at the town of al-Shola in the southern countryside of Deir Ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A local source told North Press, "Twelve-year-old child Yihya Hamdan lost his life while his father sustained injuries in all of his body in a landmine explosion of the ISIS war remnants in the al-Shola desert, south of Deir ez-Zor."
The source added that mine went
kaboom!with the child and his father while they were searching for desert truffles. The father was taken to the al-Assad Hospital in Deir ez-Zor and he is in a critical condition due to receiving shrapnel in his head and chest.
Remnants of war spread heavily in Deir ez-Zor countryside given that the region was the last stronghold for ISIS before its defeat in 2018.
On Thursday, a child lost his life and others were maimed in a similar explosion in the town of al-Husainiyah, 5 km north of Deir ez-Zor.
