#4  To Skid’s comment: recently rented a Dodge, excuse me, Ram pickup. Backing into a parking space, I opened the door to look back at the tire, truck would not move until door was shut. I know I’m not the only one that sometimes does this. And what’s with the stupid dial shifter thingie anyway? Motor memory reaches for the shift lever, just waving in air…Next thing ya know the headlight dimmer switch will be relocated from the floor…

#1  I suppose the police will soon be sued for a wrongful death. And automakers.
-The car engine should stop running when the seat belt is disengaged.
-Emergency braking should occur if a door is opened while in motion.
-Doors should not open while vehicle is in motion.
-Transmission should not engage without proper operator identification.
