Trump indicted by N.Y. grand jury, first ex-president charged with crime

The indictment was sealed, which means the specific charge or charges are not publicly known. But the grand jury had been hearing evidence about money paid to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, allegedly to keep her from saying she’d had a sexual encounter with Trump years earlier. Trump advisers were discussing a possible Tuesday surrender and court appearance, according to a person familiar with the discussions.

Trump, who is campaigning to return to the White House in 2024 and leading in most polls of Republican voters, is also the focus of criminal probes in Georgia and Washington, D.C., related to his efforts to overturn President Biden’s 2020 election victory and his handling of classified material at Mar-a-Lago, his Florida home and private club.

Those cases have raised serious questions about national security and the basic functions of democracy. The New York case, in contrast, stems from a hush-money scheme and Trump’s conduct before he became president. Being charged with — or found guilty of — a crime does not disqualify Trump from running for office. Still, the indictment suggests a remarkable possibility: a soon-to-be-77-year-old running for president while simultaneously seeking to beat a conviction. Trump has denied any wrongdoing and says he did not have an affair with Daniels.
I genuinely fear for Trump's safety. These SOB's will stop at nothing.

#12  Most of Trump’s real support is at the grass roots not among the GOP hierarchy. Although some would point out that we can pick another politician, we probably could up until this point. If we go that route now, we have let Bragg have input on our selection process. That said, I am not a proponent of protests Post-J6. I would rather see a boycott by Trump supporters from tourist travel to NYC and Washington until this is resolved. While most Trump supporters don’t have an NYC trip on their docket, probably 20% of the tourists going there are supporters of Trump. NYC is a violent dump currently and its finances are not great. A 20% drop in tourist revenue would be a significant form of accountability. Note - I don’t care much for the state governments boycotting each other in symbolic nonsense. The grassroots stuff is more real.

#9  A sealed indictment, how coy. Now for the next month the media is going to go wild. The left and Trump haters are going to revel in their victory. Then reality will set in. Honest Americans will see this for what it is. Another attack by the left elites, another of a long list of attacks, that will fail. 30 years ago this would destroy a president. The left learned when they impeached Nixon they could destroy. Times have changed. They impeached Trump twice an his base grew. Trump will win this in the end, another slander campaign will begin, and he will win it.

AMERICA needs to understand we have a ruling elite here in America. Its no different than Russia. If your not part of the party process, if you don't pay homage and kiss the elites ring, you can not be part of it.

Their stunts have help vulcanize Trump supporters.

Helped many political fence sitters decide we have a DC Swamp problem, at only he can address.

Plus, by doing so, likely have helped the Trump campaign even more than $100 million would have.
