Man Who Posted Clinton Meme Found Guilty of Interfering in 2016 Election
2023-04-01
In Brooklyn, of course!
[Epoch Times] Douglass Mackey, also known as ‘Ricky Vaughn,’ was on trial for a charge of allegedly conspiring against people’s right to vote with memes—or generally satirical online images—including one depicting an African American woman standing in front of an "African Americans for Hillary" sign. The meme instructed people to vote by text during the 2016 presidential election.

"On or about and before Election Day 2016, at least 4,900 unique telephone numbers texted ’Hillary’ or some derivative to the 59925 text number, which had been used in multiple deceptive campaign images tweeted by Mackey and his co-conspirators," reads the DOJ’s Friday statement.
Expressing their God-given right to vote by text message.
The Department of Justice (DOJ), based on that meme and records of online discussions between Mackey and his peers, charged Mackey with conspiring against the right to vote. Although a material injury—in this case, people’s right to vote being taken away—is not required to establish the conspiracy charge, the government said during the trial that people’s votes were "vaporized" by Mackey’s "digital flyers."

Authorities arrested Mackey in January 2021 on that allegation,
...the Biden team hitting the ground running...
and a grand jury indicted him within two weeks of his arrest.
A fair and speedy trial....
Mackey will be sentenced on Aug. 16, 2023, and faces a maximum of 10 years in prison.
That'll teach him not to be satirical!

#13  But the people that put together the fake dossier that caused an impeachment are still out and about.

#11  The case depended on the ignorance of the jury pool and the complicity of the court. Essentially he was convicted of sarcastically encouraging people to do something impossible, namely vote by text, and the jury agreed that merely telling ignorant people to do something they could not accomplish, was criminal because they were that stupid!

Telling people to hold their breath until they turn blue will soon be considered attempted murder when a conservative does it!

#10  Yes, yes. Conspiracy it is. Conspiracy to to do bad, bad things like exercising their First Amendment rights.

#9  Trump will be convicted in New York. Appeals up to SCROTUS will take years. Will SCROTUS still be majority conservative then? Will an alleged conservative justice "evolve" by then?

#8  No, Abu, the DA only got the jury to believe he conspired to do bad things.

#7  Not a good omen for Trump. It proves that juries in New York will believe any old crap that Soros feeds them.

Did the prosecution prove that people really thought they were voting by text? Or did the people who did the texting testify that they really thought they were voting? If they did they are either guilty of perjury or else they're so stupid they shouldn't be allowed to vote anyway. I think if they voted for Hillary that's proof enough that they are too stupid.

#6  This verdict affirms the prosecution's unstated position that black people are too stupid to be entrusted with the vote.

#5  I guess I interfered with the 2016 election by voting.

#4  There was a time one could expect leftist fuckery like this only in shitholes like West Bengal or Guangzhou.

#3  At least one memester on the other side did exactly the same thing, and was never arrested or tried and faces no prison time. On Nov. 8, 2016, which was election day, Kristina Wong tweeted a video of a Trump supporter with the caption: “Hey Trump Supporters! Skip poll lines at #Election2016 and TEXT in your vote! Text votes are legit. Or vote tomorrow on Super Wednesday!” Not only was Kristina Wong never prosecuted, but her tweet is still live. Yet she did exactly the same thing Douglass Mackey did. She just had the good sense to do it against Trump, rather than against Hillary.
