#5  This is a concern to me. My wife and I are planning a cruise to Hawaii in June. On the return trip, the ship makes a stop in Mexico.
Unfortunately, her passport is expired. We sent in the renewal request in February, paying extra for "expedited" service. They cashed the check March 7. I really hope it arrives in time, or we will have wasted $3,000.

#4  But be prepared to pay $50 tourist fee to visit Hawaii. Only thing worth going for is to pay respects (again) at Arizona and Ford Island.

#2  State Dept is as broken as any now days. If it takes an American 4 months to get a passport, imagine how many years it would take if you were from another country trying to get a visa..
