A member of Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) was injured on Saturday at the hands of unknown button men who targeted a checkpoint of the Asayish in a town in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria. A source of the Asayish in the town of Suwar, 70 km north of Deir ez-Zor, said that unknown button men, riding a cycle of violence, targeted a checkpoint of the Asayish near the square of the town with machineguns. The source added that the attack resulted in the injury of a member of the Asayish, who was transported to a field hospital in the town. Recently, the countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing an increase in liquidation operations, targeting Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters, Autonomous Administration employees, clan dignitaries and civilians, as Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allaharound with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not reallyMoslems... (ISIS) grabbed credit for most of them. Deir ez-Zor has experienced instability since it was ISIS’ last stronghold; four years later, it continues to be stage for most of the group’s activities. |
