*Snicker* Communism only works when it has the power of the state to enforce. After all, the experiment has been tried at both large and small scale in a variety of cultures before, with consistent results. The reproducibility is robust. [NYPOST] A self-described "anti-capitalist" café and coffee shop in Canada named The Anarchist with a "pay what you can" business model will close at the end of the month after just over a year in business. The Toronto shop, which opened in March 2022, will close on May 30, its owner announced in a statement, blaming a "lack of generational wealth/seed capital from ethically bankrupt sources." The café offered drip coffee to customers with a "pay what you can" price tag while charging for other beverages like espresso and tea drinks as well as breakfast pastries to subsidize the lost revenue. It also allowed the public to use its restroom and hang out in the storefront without making a purchase. The store also carried a selection of radical books, art, pins, T-shirts and more for sale. #8 It seems like there was another one of these that closed in Portland a couple of years ago. |

#4 "Free" is usually priced appropriately. |

#3 "Means based" payments. Not unlike the modest increase in your 'Uninsured Mexican' coverage on your State Farm or USAA statement. |

#2 For a liberal, "pay what you can" usually turns in to "pay what you want to", i.e. "nothing". |

#1 What? The Anti-Cap's did not support their own agenda in practice? Those with $$$ just abused the practice to keep more of their wealth? That's never happened before in 2,500 years. 😏 |
