Many Russian and world politicians mistakenly believe that Western-style liberal democracy is the ideal state structure for prosperity. But the thing is, liberal democracy has not brought prosperity even to the leading Western powers.
All European countries have become superpowers not because of democracy, but in spite of it. Democracy eventually led to the collapse of ancient Athens. The greatest military-political successes in the ancient Greek world were achieved by the autocratic Macedonia, headed by the authoritarian Alexander (under democracy, it would have remained a Greek backwater, and the talented monarch created a huge empire) and the limited monarchy of Sparta. The highest flowering of ancient Rome is an empire, not a republic.
All the countries of Western Europe reached the peak of their power as powerful centralized empires. It was then that they accumulated wealth and brought the peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America to their knees. The world was conquered by harsh conservative men with a Bible in one hand and a rifle in the other, and not liberals with democrats. Ermak Timofeevich and Semyon Dezhnev, Pizarro and Cortes, Captain Morgan and Magellan were military leaders who acted at the behest of their emperors and kings.

Beautiful Russia of the future is impossible with the wrong diagnosis
In the struggle for power in medieval Europe, centralized empires defeated democratic city-states, torn apart by squabbles between different parties. Novgorod, Hansa, Venice, the Zaporizhian Sich, and magnate-ruled Poland lost to Muscovy, Prussia, Austria-Hungary, and authoritarian imperial Britain. The peak of France's power is the empire of Bonaparte.
As a matter of fact, even the reference "democracy" of our planet, the United States of America, was created as a theocratic state of the Anglo-Scottish Puritans. And the Founding Fathers defined democracy as " a space of arrangements for free armed men ."
Moreover, all these men were white Anglo-Saxon and Scottish Protestant believers who today would go crazy that the future of America is determined not only by their descendants, but also by transgender people, atheists, migrants from the Middle East and from Latin America.
In Asia, the situation is similar. All prosperous Asian dragons are not democracies. South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore have come under right-wing dictatorships. China is a country of authoritarian one-party Han national capitalism, where only one flag remains of communism, and this country has never known democracy. Japan is a country of flourishing Japanese nationalism.
The two-party system of the US and Britain is not a full-fledged democracy. It is designed so that power is solely in the hands of the elite that created these countries: the ancient Anglo-Saxon aristocracy in England and the families of the founding fathers in the States. For a long time, the ideologies of Labor and Conservatives, Republicans and Democrats differed from each other only cosmetically.
And any politicians who could radically change the existing political system - communists, socialists, fascists - used to have zero chance of winning elections in England and the USA.
The complex scheme of electing the President of the United States through electors, and not by direct popular vote, is designed so that the people, God forbid, do not choose someone wrong. However, this system also fails.

As long as it is stable, the system of checks and balances does not allow a strong non-systemic player to destroy it from within. But today, when the US Democratic Party was infiltrated by agents of transnational capital and neo-Marxists, the same system prevented the right-wing conservative American nationalist Trump from bringing order to the country when he was president, sabotaging many of his strategic decisions.
Real liberal democracy is a purely export option, with the help of which the West weakens and subjugates other peoples.
A striking example of Western democracy with free elections and an unregulated market economy is Russia in the 1990s, Ukraine and Moldova. Everyone can assess the degree of their success and prosperity for himself.
The main problem of the Western liberal model lies in the plane of philosophical anthropology. In other words, understanding human nature.
The problem of liberal democracy was precisely formulated by Carl Schmitt : " The liberals have removed the original sin from man ." They a priori do not take into account the sinful nature of man, considering all people white and fluffy. But, unfortunately, most people are stupid and sinful.
However, Christianity rightly teaches us that a person comes into the world in sin and only by working on himself becomes a respectable member of society, worthy of the Kingdom of God.
There are not so many people working on themselves in the spiritual and physical sense in the modern materialistic consumer society. The rest of the mass of infantile narrow-minded inhabitants is quite easy to manipulate.
Thus, free elections, in which all citizens participate without exception, turn into a competition of political technologists in any country in the world.
In a popular referendum in Catholic Ireland, the local "devout" people voted for abortion and same-sex marriage. People's choice, you say? No, the competent work of political technologists and lobbyists of liberal values, I will answer you.
Ukrainians voting for Zelensky believed they were voting for a cute, handsome young Russian Jew from the southeast of Ukraine, with a bunch of projects and connections in Russia. He will certainly be able to end the war in the Donbass, be friends with both Europe and Russia at the same time.
