'That is NOT OK': Social media is left in uproar over image of plus-size plane passenger being WEIGHED on a baggage scale in front of 'the whole airport' after staff accused her of lying when she 'claimed she was 130lbs'
2023-05-20
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Based on that photo, if she is taller than 5’4” she weighs over 200 lb. May I suggest reading Tom Godwin’s classic “The Cold Equations“.
  • The woman, named Lillian, said everyone had to share their weight with crew

  • When they suspected one person was lying, they made her stand on a scale

  • Lillian said it was 'safety reasons' since weight balance is vital on smaller planes

#17  She’s 120 but she ate a really big breakfast.

#16  130 my ass. Or, rather her ass. She'll about 190.

#15  Hurt my back just reading that, Skid.

That's two dudes and a bench carry.

This is what happens when we took out the applied physics toys from the playground, such as the teeter-totter; lessons learned by courtesy of pain. Correlation between the Not OK comments and people who haven't been on a row boat is 100%.

#13  Did the airline charge her for the extra baggage?

Gonna guess there is enough of that for two seasons of Dr. Katz.

#9  one of her fellow plane passengers was forced to weigh themselves

You so fat, people talk about you in singular plural.

#6  The bigger picture, given it was a small Puddle Jumper and having rode them into some small remote sites for assignments.

There is a strict MAX vs. Normal Safe takeoff weight. So every pound must be accounted for, and no vanity applied .

Now look at the size of that Butt.
It likely weights in at 130 by itself.

#5  "Same difference, eh? Kilogram, pound?
[a crack and profound rumbling sound]
Do these jeans make my ass
Look an earth-shaking mass?"
"Bae, I'd say it's the other way round."

#3  I once took my mother on a trip to Friday Harbor in Puget Sound. We landed at Sea Tac, then transferred from a large airliner to a very small plane. The pilot weighed both of us and all our baggage. He then spent a fair amount of time distributing the baggage inside the plane to ensure a proper center of gravity.
