Dramatic video shows 'Ukrainian' marine drone dodging gunfire while homing in on Russian warship - before exploding in a massive fireball when it suffered direct hit in the Black Sea

#7  This one cuts off just before the money shot.

Typical of long range drone strikes. The latency cuts off the final half second. I think the drone did hit... but how much damage it caused is the question. I think the ship survived and if we see it in drydock via satellite we know it was bad. If not it was a glancing blow.

#5  I am an American consumer. If you are going to sell me a video that proves a ship got blown up, it better have a ship getting blown up. This one cuts off just before the money shot.

Maybe the drone blew up. Maybe it took a little machine gun fire to its brain and could not detonate. Or maybe a Russian intel ship has jamming equipment that caused the drone operator to lose contact, stopping a detonation command.

I am not saying it was one way or another. I'm saying we don't know. Is this the Cruiser Moskva or the Ghost of Kiev? With more info, the probability function collapses and we will know. Until then, I ain't buying nothing!

#4  The Russians aren't going to release video of their ship on fire with a big hole in the waterline. In the suicide quad copter drone videos, you never see the drone making contact with the target. That is because video frames are buffered before transmitting. When the drone explodes, video transmission is still a few frames behind. The detonation could have been a dud, but I wouldn't bet on it.

In the video, you can see the drone operator make a sharp turn just before the video cuts out. That is to get the explosives as close to the hull as possible. The warhead would be located in the middle of the boat for center of gravity reasons. Ramming head on results an explosion several feet from the hull, doing a lot less damage.

#3  I watched the video in #2 and some of its numerous copies on the web and I do not see the ship getting hit.

We see the drone approaching the ship under fire, it gets real close, then the video cuts out. We can assume the video cut out because the drone exploded as it hit the ship. We can assume that, but we don't see it. Pictures, or it didn't happen, so to speak.

Or at least a note from the Russian MoD. Or footage from the NATO asset that was likely in the air watching the festivities.

#1  Not just international waters, but only 40 miles north of the Bosphorus.

Doesn't sound very Ukrainian.
