The blast occurred on June 8 and killed at least 19 people, including the former Taliban security commander in the city of Baghlan, and maimed 38 others. The funeral was for the Taliban's provincial deputy governor, Nissar Ahmad Ahmadi, who was killed along with his driver in a suicide boom-mobileing three days earlier. IS-K also grabbed credit for that attack.
