Speaking after his re-election as PresiÂdent of Pakistain MusÂlim League-Nawaz for a four-year term at the party's Central GenÂeral Council, he said Nawaz Sharif is the arÂchitect of modern PaÂkistan and during his tenure as prime minisÂter, he eliminated enerÂgy shortages, laid down the network of roads, built infrastructure and developed agriculture, industry and other vital sectors of the economy.
He said he would hand over the presiÂdentship of the party to Nawaz Sharif after his return to Pakistain. He thanked the GenerÂal Council for electing him as its new presiÂdent and his associates for the leadership poÂsitions in the party. He lauded Maryam Nawaz for courageously leadÂing the party all across Pakistain, despite all the difficulties that came in her way.
He said sixty percent of the population of the country was youth and Pakistain MusÂlim League (N) needed young leaders for the future. He appreciatÂed workers of the party for standing by PML-N despite going through hardships in jails and facing difficulties, addÂing similarly party leadÂership also stood their ground and faced opÂpression and suffering with courage and deÂtermination.
