[NPASyria] On Saturday afternoon, Ottoman Turkish border guards shot at and maimed a 50-year-old man as he was entering his farmland located in western Idlib near the Ottoman Turkish border in northwestern Syria.
A local source told North Press that Riyad al-Kanou, 52, was shot by Ottoman Turkish border guards while checking his land, adjacent to the Ottoman Turkish border near the town of Harem in western Idlib.
The source added that "al-Kanou was taken to Harim Hospital at death's door."
He stated that the Ottoman Turkish observation tower opposite the town of Harem shot the man with several bullets, one of which hit his body, despite knowing that he was there to check his land.
Hundreds of farmers who own lands adjacent to the Ottoman Turkish border have since refrained from checking their lands out of fear of being targeted by Ottoman Turkish border guards, who continue to directly shoot civilians. |
