Denmark scrambles to legislate against Quran burnings amid terror alerts
2023-08-26
[GEO.TV] The Danish government on Friday said it has prepared a bill that — if passed — could lead to a countrywide ban on Koran burning
...One of the basic tenets of Islam is that once a Koran has been printed it is expected to last for all time, no matter how old, ratty, and smelly other, lesser holy books may become. Should it actually become necessary to put a Koran out of its misery there is a ritual that includes extensive charivari, featuring long drawn-wailing and head bonking, ritual wife beating, and the sacrifice of dozens of women's noses and pubic lips. When the actual disposal has been completed there is a prescribed period of celebratory gun sex with the expectation of a minimum of two hundred casualties. Should actual infidels dispose of a Koran, Islamic custom calls for three weeks of rioting and a minimum of three dozen dead, which is a holdover from the days of Moloch worship....
s, amidst rising terror threats and outrage in the Moslem world.

The bill is yet to be presented in the country's parliament.
Oh. So it’s a bright idea rather than an actuality. Let us know should it actually be signed into law.
Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen, told Danish radio that the move sends an "important political signal" to the rest of the world, reported Al Jazeera.
And a different one if it doesn’t actually pass...
Under the new bill, burning a Koran would be a crime subject to penalties or a maximum sentence of two years in jail.

Peter Hummelgaard, the justice minister, explained that the proposed law is intended to be written into the same regulation that currently bans the desecration of other countries’ flags.

The Danish law would prohibit the "improper treatment of objects of significant religious significance to a religious community", he said.

Hummelgaard, speaking at a presser, said that a spate of recent Koran burnings were "senseless taunts" aimed to incite "discord and hatred", adding that national security was the primary "motivation" for the ban.

Denmark and Sweden have seen a string of protests in public in recent weeks where copies of the Koran have been burned or otherwise damaged, prompting outrage in Moslem nations which have demanded the Nordic governments put a stop to the burnings, reported Rooters.

#1  Because decades of platitudes about freedom of expression mean squat when Muslim colonists threaten criminal violence.
