Zelensky confirmed the capture of Andreevka
The Ukrainian military has good results in the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said on the evening of September 15.
“There is a significant and very necessary result for Ukraine in the Bakhmut direction - our soldiers liberated Andreevka. The 3rd assault, all the forces involved, the headquarters, the commander - General Syrsky. Guys, thank you all,” said the head of state . Let us remind you that earlier a scandal arose due to information about the battles in Andreevka. A day earlier, Deputy Minister of Defense Anna Malyar said that “Andreevka is ours.” However , the military men from the 3rd separate assault brigade mentioned by Zelensky said that Malyar’s words about the capture of Andreevka were erroneous , premature, and could cause harm.
According to the president, Ukraine’s active actions continue in the areas of Kleshchievka and Kurdyumivka. “ The 36th Separate Naval Infantry Brigade operates very powerfully in the areas of Opytny and Vodyanoye... The 3rd separate Assault Brigade reported the details of the liberation of Andriyivka of the Donetsk region. As a result of the lightning operation of the defenders, the enemy garrison of Andriivka was surrounded, cut off from the main forces and destroyed.
This was reported in the Telegram of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. In two days, its fighters eliminated: almost all the infantry of the Russian 72nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, together with officers and a significant amount of equipment.
"As of now, the fighting continues, our units continue to consolidate in new positions," the defenders noted.
The brigade emphasized that units of the 72nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Federation had repeatedly suffered heavy losses and defeats from clashes with the 3rd Assault Brigade earlier.
"Now, after recovery and regrouping, the enemy has suffered a total failure," the defenders added.
Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar announced the dismissal of Andriivka yesterday. The 3rd Assault Brigade called her words false and premature and noted that such actions harm the defenders.
Malyar edited the post and said that the released information was coordinated with the military, but there was a "communication failure." The General Staff officially announced Andriivka's dismissal on the morning of September 15.
