#6  It takes a particular kind of mind to envision Reindeer FOD!

#5  There's also the squashed reindeer FOD removal to consider.

#4  Yeah, but can the maintainers and fuelers get to the aircraft.

That was the command in the Philippines concern when they got notice that the Japanese had attacked Pearl Harbor. So they let them sit on the ground to be destroyed later the day. Better to have them someplace you have to get the maintainers to than clean up the debris later.

#3  ^ There is that pesky 'logistics' thing again!
Hey, what if we had electric fighters? Then they could recharge at the nearest EV charging station.

#2  Yeah, but can the maintainers and fuelers get to the aircraft. Most of keeping a bird going is not "kick the tires and light the fires".

#1  ...Unlike SOME Air Forces I can think of (I'm lookin' at you, My Beloved Service), the RAF and Nordic air forces have always considered and planned for the possibility that those beautiful mile-long runways may not be there at the end of the war's first day. It was a pleasant surprise however that Typhoon showed itself well capable of handling an improvised runway.
