| Israeli man arrested for attempting to sacrifice sheep on Temple Mount |

| [JPost] An Israeli citizen was arrested near Jerusalem's Old City on Sunday morning after attempting to bring a sheep to the Temple Mount as a sacrifice. The suspect is a religious activist of the Chozrim L'Har movement, which advocates against the "abandonment of the Temple Mount into foreign hands." The man was detained by law enforcement officials after being located en route to the Mount. |

| #1 I seem to recall that only a male whose lineage on both sides back to the year dot is of the Cohen sub-tribe — with no divorced parents in the lineage — can perform sacrifices in the Temple in Jerusalem, and then only once the Temple has been properly consecrated in Levitical detail. And then the animal to be sacrificed has to be examined by trained priests to ensure it meets the Levitical standards... I strongly suspect that our enthusiastic Israeli citizen did not check all the boxes before he started dragging his poor beast up the hill. |
