The victim, identified as Mullah Khalid, served as a commander in the Taliban’s security forces in the Omna district. He was attacked by armed individuals while en route to his home, as stated by the sources.
As of now, the Taliban has not released any statements regarding the incident, and no group has grabbed credit for the killing of the local Taliban commander.
It is worth mentioning that a Taliban military base in the Gomal district of Paktika province was recently targeted in an armed attack as well. However,
