#2  So, looking back, knowing the depths that the Red Army had to wade through in WWII, how likely is it that some Russian alcoholism is partially a result of PTSD? (just a stray thought)
There's an intel process called "walking back the cat": examining yesterday's events in light of today's knowledge. Mostly used for examining security leaks, but fits in all kinds of places.
