The Paratrooper Brigade and the 7th Brigade uncovered chemicals, explosives and RPGs in the tunnel next to the university.
Lt.-Col. Almog, commander of the 202nd Battalion, said "we uncovered a very significant tunnel opening seemingly leading to a tunnel system. We’ll continue destroying infrastructure."
"This is all further evidence of Hamas’ cynical use of the civilian population and various facilities as a human shield for its needs," the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit added.
The tunnel opening, which was next to a ferris wheel in an amusement park was destroyed by Israeli soldiers in the Paratrooper Brigade.
"We found a logistic tunnel. The tunnels didn’t pass over this area. We blew it up now, the opening has been destroyed and we intend to do this in every place we get to," Maj. Roi, a commander, said.
