Iowa's Board of Regents vote to get rid of diversity, equity, and inclusion jobs, programs on all 3 campuses
2023-11-21
[KETV] The Iowa Board of Regents votes to get rid of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) jobs and programs at all three public universities.
Well done, guys!
On Thursday, they approved all 10 recommendations from a DEI study group.

The group looked at several factors, including recent legislation in Texas and Florida.

In addition to removing programs, race will no longer be a factor during the admissions or hiring processes.

Students weighed in on how they felt about the programs at Iowa State.

"It needs more importance on campus because I think we don't have much programs for people of color," said one student.

"I don't think it should be cut down. If anything, it should be more," said another student.

The vote led to immediate outrage from DEI advocates.

The executive director of One Iowa said the decision shows "a blatant disregard" of data, research and desires of the campus community.

DEI advocates said the move will devastate the universities' capacity to attract, retain, and prepare students for their future careers.

This is part of their multi-day meeting, where they're taking up several issues.

#4  Now, all they have to do is actually make it happen.
Same thing was done in Texas. Problem is, once administrators grow their little kingdom, it's not gonna shrink. They'll ignore the law, lie and hide it.

#3  It's more likely a monetary thing.

Save from paying $Millions across the state for 'no work' programs.

#1  Wow, a Board of Regents that are not just political hacks collecting a check.

Waiting for the self appointed accreditation grifters to threaten their actions.
