[Regnum] A drone launched from Yemen shot down
It is clarified that the crew of the ship considered the Iranian-made KAS-04 drone a threat and decided to shoot it down.
It is explained that the United States sent its ships to the Red Sea after the outbreak of hostilities between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement.
Earlier, Regnum news agency reported that on November 28, an Iranian unmanned aerial vehicle flew next to the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier of the United States Navy Dwight Eisenhower in the Persian Gulf.
The US military considered the incident to be the result of unprofessionalism and non-compliance with security standards on the part of Iran, according to which drones are required to stay at a distance of more than 18.5 km from the aircraft carrier.

"At approximately 1100 (Sanaa time), while in the South Red Sea, the Arleigh-Burke Class Guided Missile Destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64) shot down an Iranian-produced KAS04 unmanned aerial vehicle launched from Huthi-controlled areas of Yemen," CENTCOM says in a statement.
