US negotiators working on deal to pave way for two months' truce in Gaza
2024-01-29
[GEO.TV] Two bigwigs of the United States government administration have said the US negotiators could potentially seal a deal between Israel and Hamas

for two months in exchange for the freedom of over 100 hostages detained by the fighters in the October 7 attack, an international media organization reported.

The possible deal would be implemented in two phases. First, a ceasefire would be adopted to release women, the elderly and maimed hostages. Then, during the 30 days’ pause, the Israeli authorities and Hamas fighters would work out details for the second phase, wherein detained Israeli soldiers and civilians would be freed. The deal also includes allowing more humanitarian aid into the besieged enclave.
