During the day, the Defense Forces repelled 21 Russian attacks in the Novopavlovsk direction and 11 in the Avdeevsky direction. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced this in an evening report on Saturday, March 9.
A total of 58 military clashes took place at the front. Russian troops carried out three missile and 61 air strikes, and carried out 70 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas.
In the Kupyansk direction the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations. In the Liman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled six enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Terny and Spornoye, Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defenses.
In the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces repulsed five attacks by the invaders in the areas of the settlements of Bogdanovka, Klishchievka, Andreevka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to improve its tactical position.
In the Avdeevsky direction, defenders repulsed 11 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Berdich, Orlovka, Tonenkoye, Pervomaiskoye, Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlovsk direction, the Defense Forces continue to restrain the Russians in the Krasnohorivka, Georgievka, Novomikhailovka areas of the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the defense 21 times.
In the Orekhovsky direction, the invaders attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders six times in the areas of the settlements of Robotino and west of Verbovoy, Zaporozhye region.
During the day, Defense Forces aircraft carried out strikes on eight areas where enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated. Units of the missile forces inflicted defeat on the area where personnel were concentrated, electronic warfare stations and Russian air defense systems.
Let us recall that almost two-thirds of military clashes take place in the Tauride direction. Thus, during the day, Tavria troops carried out 45 military clashes with the invaders.
