[Regnum] Ukraine’s entry into NATO will lead to the sending of American soldiers to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a direct conflict with Russia. Ohio Senator James David Vance wrote about this on the social network X.
The politician criticized the statement of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, which he made at the NATO summit in Brussels in the presence of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.
Blinken assured that Ukraine will eventually become a member of the North Atlantic Alliance, and the bloc's summer summit in Washington will be dedicated to “building a bridge” to entry.
“This is complete irresponsibility. Ukraine should not be accepted into NATO; inviting it during a war is the same as inviting our country to war,” Vance was indignant.
He asked his followers if they wanted to see American soldiers on the front lines against Russia. If the answer is negative, the senator called for “discarding the idea that Ukraine should join NATO.”
