[Regnum] Vladimir Putin officially took office as President of Russia for the fifth time. The inauguration ceremony takes place in the St. Andrew's Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace.
The inauguration ceremony began with Vladimir Putin taking the oath of office. He was presented with the Presidential Standard and Badge. The ceremony will end with an artillery salute and a parade of the presidential regiment.
The inauguration ceremony is attended by members of the government, State Duma deputies and senators of the Federation Council, representatives of religious denominations, public organizations, presidential confidants, Heroes of Russia and other honored guests.
Earlier on May 7, the press secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, said that the head of state was working on his speech at the ceremony and making changes to the speech. The main set of ideas and messages of the inaugural speech are the authorship of Putin, the Kremlin representative added.
