[GEO.TV] Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam ...Assembly of Islamic Clergy, or JUI, is a Pak Deobandi (Hanafi) political party. There are two main branches, one led by Maulana Fazlur Rahman, and one that was led by Maulana Samiul Haq. Fazl is active in Pak politix and Sami spent more time running his madrassah until his secretary rubbed him out in a jealous rage. Both branches sponsor branches of the Taliban, though with plausible deniability... Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman ![]() Mullah Dieselduring the war against the Soviets, his sympathies for the Taliban have never been tempered by honesty. Fazl seldom misses a meal and is now so large he has his own gravitational pull... has reiterated that "fake assemblies" are unacceptable as the politico-religious party is all set to widen its anti-government movement. The JUI-F leader, who believed that the 2024 general elections were more rigged than that of 2018, said "these governments are not the true representatives" of the people. "We have brought the case of people's self-respect," he added. It is pertinent to mention here that the JUI-F had also been calling the former PTI-led government "fake" before the two erstwhile political foes found an "ideological coordination" against the incumbent PML-N-led coalition government. Slamming the then Imran Khan ...aka The Great Khan, who who convinced himself that playing cricket qualified him to lead a nuclear-armed nation with severe personality disorders... -led government, Fazl, in October 2018 said: "Fake' legislation carried out by a fake parliament has no legal value." #1 A March 1991 Lahore meeting of Islamists was called at the behest o f Pakistan's Jamaat-i-Islami leader Qazi Hussain Ahmad. Ahmad had spent much of March on a tour of Pakistan trying to mend fences within his party which had fractured over support for Saudi Arabia in the Gulf War. Anti-American protests began to spread in January 1991, and it was the fear of alienating Washington that caused Foreign Minister Shehryar Khan to state that if Pakistan were to support Saddam Hussein it would alienate the U.S., the Saudis and the world community and consign "Pakistan's fate to that of Muslim Albania." Regardless, the Salafist Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI) of Fazlur Rehman Khalil led the charge of Islamist movements determined to reverse Pakistan government support for Washington. It was a time of political uproar. Ever since the JUI has led Pakistan's anti-American bloc, which remains significant to this date. |
