#7 It's a funny story for me and I'm reminded of it every time, NASA... Apologies to those for whom this is a repeat. |

#6 In the procedure, well practiced in a weightless simulation water tank, Carl was to use an electric socket wrench to open a Hubble access panel. With no footing or water mass resistance, he fitted the socket per protocol and with approval from Houston activated the wrench. Whereupon the video link showed Carl immediately begin to spin counter-clockwise, around the bolt. You serious? |

#5 Via Transterrestrial.com, a link to the NPR article referenced in 3dc's video. The article goes deeper into the real risks and even more real politics involved in the decision. tl;dr: a SpaceX mission being "free" is not the only parameter in the decision matrix. |

#4 Whereupon the video link showed Carl immediately begin to spin counter-clockwise, around the bolt. Physics wins in the end. No matter what the PERT chart says. Righty tighty, lefty loosey, If you're spinning, your the goosie! |

#3 Reminds me of a Det 3 colleague, Carl Walz. "Walz also participated in a 7-hour spacewalk (EVA) to evaluate tools for the Hubble Space Telescope servicing mission." Carl was a 'by-the-book' guy. In the procedure, well practiced in a weightless simulation water tank, Carl was to use an electric socket wrench to open a Hubble access panel. With no footing or water mass resistance, he fitted the socket per protocol and with approval from Houston activated the wrench. Whereupon the video link showed Carl immediately begin to spin counter-clockwise, around the bolt. |

#2 Space Law to be tested? If NASA has decided to ABANDON the Hubble Spaceship. Could SpaceX use Maritime Laws to Salvage it? Imagine that on display and the $$$$$$ viewing fees collected. |

#1 We'd rather build a new one (at least the contractors would). |
